Welcome Our New Editor-In-Chief: Kia Morgan-Smith

It’s official, meet Atlanta Tastemaker Magazine’s newest editor-in-chief; Kia Morgan-Smith!

Kia Morgan Smith is an Author, and former education and political reporter who worked as a foot soldier on the front lines of critical issues for 15 years as an award-winning reporter for The Virginian-Pilot Newspaper, as well as a reporter for the Press & Sun Bulletin and the Philadelphia Tribune. 

In 2003, Kia earned a Master of Arts degree in Education from Cheyney University of Pennsylvania. (She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism in 1997 from Norfolk State University) and later went on to become an elementary school teacher for the Philadelphia School system and for People for People Charter School for five years before moving to Douglasville Georgia from her hometown Philadelphia.

As a mom of five children, Kia started a popular blog called Cincomom where she chronicles life with her kids, and she is also author of the whimsical children’s book, Goony Goo-Goo and Ga-Ga Too (2010). Kia is a work-at-home mom who runs the non-profit organization Atlanta Diaper Relief. Kia is also married to Rudolph Smith, an Engineer for the City of Atlanta.
