VH1 has a new show joining the wives’ club, Hollywood Exes.
This new series focuses on Nicole Murphy, Jessica Canseco, Sheree Fletcher, Mayte Garcia, and Andrea Kelly, the ex-wives of Eddie Murphy, Jose Canseco, Will Smith, Prince, and R. Kelly, respectively.
Based on what we know about the show’s conception, Hollywood Exes could actually be entertaining and differ from past ex-wife series. It seems that the show will focus on the lives of five very successful women who are often cast in the shadow of their famous ex-husbands.
In other words I don’t think the show will be about who can cuss out whom, or who can scream the loudest for the highest ratings.
The ladies of Hollywood Exes don’t need any extra reality tv shine; they’re all successful in their own right. Canseco owns a cosmetic tattoo removal shop in Beverly Hills; Fletcher is the creator of Whoop Ash, a natural skincare cream; Garcia is currently a film and television actress; Kelly owns a dance studio in Chicago; and Murphy is a model and jewelry designer.
“These extraordinarily strong women adjusted to and endured a lot while their ex-spouses won fame and fortune defining pop culture for that moment,” Jeff Olde, Executive Vice President, Original Programming & Production of VH1, said. “Now these women must re-invent themselves again, stepping out of the long shadows cast by their famous husbands and supporting each other as they define the next stage of their lives – this time on their own terms.”
Be sure to tune in to what will be one of the most talked about reality shows this year. The 10-episode series will premiere in the summer of 2012.
