Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins has joined the long list of flashback celebrities who look to reality television to reignite their music careers. The raspy voiced songstress that represents one third of the popular 90′s girl group TLC, has landed her own show, Totally T-Boz, on TLC network; how appropriate.
According to the AJC, the show will air only four episodes in 2013 and focus on Watkins’s life as a single mother who is trying to re-launch her music career despite several health setbacks and financial woes. This isn’t the first time Watkins has appeared in a reality show, if you remember she and band-mate Rozanda “Chilli” Thomas had a UPN reality show in 2005 “R U the Girl” seeking a temporary lead singer for TLC after the untimely death of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes.
If you blinked you may have missed Watkin’s appearance on ”Celebrity Apprentice” in 2009, in which she lasted five episodes, so some critics are wondering if Watkins will reveal enough drama to make her show interesting enough for TLC to order up another season.
If you read our January/February issue you remember that Chilli told us about the duo’s upcoming biopic that is set to air on Vh-1 next year, so perhaps viewers will get a sneak peek of the two with their executive producer hats on.
The show is said to star her daughter, brother, cousins and friends, and is currently filming in Atlanta.
