Lisa Price Shares Her Intimate Decision to Have Weight Loss Surgery
If you are like many women and men who are struggling to uphold their annual New Year’s resolution and lose a few pounds, you’ll understand Lisa Price, CEO + Founder of Carol’s Daughter, and her intimate account of why she choose to have weight loss surgery.
As an entrepreneur, Price is one of those business women you can relate to. Despite her many celebrity ties to her brand, she’s humble and open to share in her good, bad and ugly as it pertains to business and personal experiences; to inspire someone else’s journey.
Price shared this week on her site, in a two part series, how she was distraught after a routine doctor’s appointment and hearing her doctor advise weight loss surgery in an effort to lower her cholesterol, get her blood pressure under control and make her a healthier person who could live a longer life.
Price says initially she broke down at the thought of the idea. “I got into a taxi after I left her [doctor] office and I let the tears flow. I was embarrassed and upset. How did I let myself get like this? I felt like a failure and out of control,” said Lisa.
After getting over the shock and disappointment of her reality, Price says she began to educate herself about the different options available for weight loss surgery and scheduled her first appointment with a doctor. Once she left her appointment she had settled on a specific procedure and date for new journey. “My doctor surprised me when he said he felt lap band was my best option. He felt that I had the discipline required to succeed”.
Price’s surgery was scheduled the day after her birthday. She celebrated with a cupcake that had to be eaten before 7 pm because the next day she’d be holding her husband’s hand going through a personal transformation that she says may not be for everyone, but it was the best birthday present she had ever had!
