Bauder College Celebrates Fashion with a Penthouse Black Tie + Exposition
Bauder College celebrated their 34th annual Black Tie and Exposition this past Friday at the Americas Mart Penthouse Theatre. The night reminded you of an Anna Wintour fashion event as Tastemakers such as Roger Bobb of Bobbcat Films, came dressed to inspire and witness the créme de la créme of Bauder’s fashion students and the work they have so diligently poured themselves into over the past school year.
The evening commenced with a portfolio exhibition of work from students who were awarded first place in the categories of interior design, fashion design, and graphic arts. Immediately following, art was brought to life through the highly anticipated runway show. Our friend and Bauder Alumni Issac Spry, whose design was featured in the Vitamin Water Fashion Challenge, showcased a few pieces from his haute couture line. We also spotted familiar garb from designers who showcased at the Simon Fashion Bow Wow show a few months ago.
While excellence is a status that very few manage to obtain, Fashion Merchandising student Shaft Johnson, and Business Administration students Melody Numez and Herman Wilson proved that they had what it took to be presented with the Award of Excellence for their remarkable designs.
Not to be outdone, Senior Fashion Design student Dwayne Woodard, earned the event’s coveted award for his line ‘Paris in the Springtime’. As we continue our search for up and coming designers, there is no doubt that Bauder College is our first stop, as the institution is birthing a generation of artistic achievers.
